A Special Exhibit at the Palo Alto Art Center, February-March 2024

The organization partnered with curator Harriet Stern to display food-themed artwork from eight international Sister Cities. The exhibition explored “how traditional cuisine and modern variations can tell the story of a country and its culture” through art and photography.

The opening reception attracted over 150 community members, including Mayor Greer Stone, Vice Mayor Ed Lauing, and City Councilmember Lydia Kou. Volunteers provided international small bites. Artist Joanne Posluszny-Hoffsten from Linkoping, Sweden attended and displayed a sculpture depicting “Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes, Brown Gravy, Peas and Lingon Jelly.”

The Enschede, Netherlands photography club published exhibit coverage. The exhibition ran concurrently with the Art Center’s “In Feast or Famine” exhibition.
